What is JustBe?

JustBe is an attitude, a feeling, an energy. Without limiting it, JustBe has certain Zen elements to it—as Mark said in the original ‘About Us’ statement, whatever it is, JUST BE in it.

The original concept of JustBe focused on environmental issues. We, the new JustBe, will honor that foundation while exploring new and different ideas that will focus on being environmentally conscious, supporting local causes/movements (see justbe(er), and expressing ideas of individual greatness (see justbe happy).

Our Story:

It Takes a Village
I met the original Just Be Threads (see original ‘About Us’ statement below) gang at an  Earth Day back in 2007, shortly after they had started the business. I was interested in organic clothing, loved the Just Be message, and bought a shirt. Somewhere along the way, Mark and I exchanged email addresses and a few emails ensued. After those original emails, things sort of tapered off and I would check the website every once in a while but that was about it. Then, a couple months back, I got an email from Mark asking if I am interested in the company.

So, naturally, I was excited and started thinking and talking to folks about this possibility.
That’s where the support of friends and family really kicked in. We all kicked around some ideas and then, my friend, Dana Aubuchon, had this great idea to honor one of her colleagues who had passed away unexpectedly, too young, and in the middle of a school year—see Just Be Peaceful (the John Wiedmann shirt). With Dana on board and that idea icing the cake, we were off and running—with the amazing and generous help of website guru, Dave Gellman.

Mark and the whole previous gang have been great in the transition process and have  offered to help in any way they can. I can’t say how greatly we appreciate their support and the support of all our friends and family (old and new).

It is with this appreciation that we hope to continue to honor the foundation of the original Just Be Threads and take it forward with new ideas and see what new directions we can go. Thank you all for your support and we truly look forward to the opportunity to make some great shirts.
